Zusammenfassung: Der nachfolgende Beitrag befasst sich mit Erscheinungsformen von Moral in der Beziehung zwischen Professionellen und AdressatInnen der Sozialen Arbeit. Ausgangspunkt der Analysen ist eine Sicht auf Moral, die ihren Gegenstand als Kommunikation von (Miss-)Achtung betrachtet. Am Fall der Konversationsanalyse von Hilfeplangesprächen wird gezeigt, dass Moral in den Interaktionen zwischen Professionellen und KlientInnen allgegenwärtig ist und die Integration der Beteiligten in das Hilfeplansetting unterstützt. Probleme im Umgang mit Moral entstehen dagegen regelmäßig im Kontext der Fallkonstitution, insbesondere bei der Erörterung eines die Hilfe auslösenden Defizits. Hier sieht sich das professionelle Handeln mit strukturell widersprüchlichen Handlungsanforderungen konfrontiert, die auf das Spannungsfeld institutioneller und interaktiver Funktionsbestimmungen in der Sozialen Arbeit verweise

Declientification: Undoing Client Identities in Care Planning Conferences on the Termination of Residential Care

That social welfare clients ought to be looked at not as given, a priori entities, but rather as categories produced in accordance with the policies, resources and options of the institutions involved is established today as a common ground for reflexive and reconstructivist perspectives in social work research. The disestablishment of the client role, however, up to now seems to have met a blind spot. This article will present findings from a conversation analytical study based on fourteen fully transcribed care planning conferences in the context of German long-term residential childcare, concentrating on five meetings explicitly designed to terminate the service provision. We will show how long-term residential care is regularly terminated by a range of interactional strategies complementary to those of client production that can be flexibly exploited in response to institutional and political context requirements. Conversation analysis is introduced as a method that can unveil the interactive practices professionals use in order to balance the constraints of institutional social work against the needs of the individual case

Gespräche als Forschungsgegenstand in der Sozialen Arbeit

Empirische Forschung in der Sozialen Arbeit geschieht bislang mehrheitlich auf der Basis von Ex-post-facto-Erhebungen, aufgrund derer nie soziale Wirklichkeit selbst, sondern allenfalls deren subjektive Deutungen erfasst werden können. Dieser Beitrag plädiert für den Einsatz gesprächsanalytischer Verfahren, die in der Lage sind, die lokale Produktion sozialer Wirklichkeit nachzuzeichnen und somit sozialarbeiterische Praxis an sich zu beschreiben. Ein umfassender Literaturüberblick über aktuelle internationale Forschungen auf diesem Gebiet zeigt, dass sich diese Praxis mit zum Teil widersprüchlichen Interaktionsbedingungen auseinandersetzen muss und oft anderes leistet, als es theoretisch informierte Normen oder das professionelle Selbstverständnis in der Sozialen Arbeit nahe legen. The following contribution advocates the use of conversation-analytical procedures which allow to sketch the local production of social reality and thus to describe the practice of social work as such. Conflict and Conflict Episode. Processes, Structures, and Functions of a Social Form

Die vorliegende Untersuchung befasst sich mit den kommunikativen Prozessen der Ausdifferenzierung einer Konfliktsituation. Entgegen der Erfahrung handelt es sich beim Konflikt selbst noch in seiner einfachsten Form um ein verhältnismäßig komplexes Gebilde, das sehr spezifischen, nicht weiter hintergehbaren Strukturbedingungen seines Ordnungsaufbaus unterliegt. Ausgehend von Überlegungen aus der Systemtheorie, wonach sich der Konflikt auf die Ablehnung von Sinnzumutungen gründet, fragen die vorliegenden Analysen nach den dafür maßgeblichen Prozessen seiner Konstitution. Anhand konversationsanalytischer Gesprächsdaten wird kenntlich gemacht, wie sich das Potenzial des Konflikts im Rahmen einer mehrgliedrigen Widerspruchskommunikation sinnlogisch entfaltet und dabei schon nach wenigen Zugfolgen Struktur auskondensiert, die kommunikativ destabilisiert werden muss, um den Konflikt in seiner Weiterentwicklung zu bremsen. Diesen Vorgang fassen wir unter dem Begriff der Konfliktepisode, deren soziale Funktionen wir abschließend erörtern.The present study deals with the communication processes of conflict development. Contrary to common-sense experience, conflict, even in its simplest form, indicates a relatively complex matter that underlies unique prerequisites with an orderly and extended structure. According to systems theory (Luhmann), which sees conflict as based on the rejection of an expected notion or suggestion, the present analyses ask about the decisive processes of its constitution. Based on conversational data, it is shown how conflict unfolds its meaning potential in the course of multiple contradictions. After just a few communication sequences a structure is shaped which has to be destabilized communicatively in order to stop further developments of conflict reproduction. This transaction we call a conflict episode. Its social functions are elaborated in a final section

Ki-67 as a prognostic marker in mantle cell lymphoma—consensus guidelines of the pathology panel of the European MCL Network

Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) has a heterogeneous clinical course and is mainly an aggressive B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma; however, there are some indolent cases The Ki-67 index, defined by the percentage of Ki-67-positive lymphoma cells on histopathological slides, has been shown to be a very powerful prognostic biomarker. The pathology panel of the European MCL Network evaluated methods to assess the Ki-67 index including stringent counting, digital image analysis, and estimation by eyeballing. Counting of 2 × 500 lymphoma cells is the gold standard to assess the Ki-67 index since this value has been shown to predict survival in prospective randomized trials of the European MCL Network. Estimation by eyeballing and digital image analysis showed a poor concordance with the gold standard (concordance correlation coefficients [CCC] between 0.29 and 0.61 for eyeballing and CCC of 0.24 and 0.37 for two methods of digital image analysis, respectively). Counting a reduced number of lymphoma cells (2 × 100 cells) showed high interobserver agreement (CCC = 0.74).
